1. It's murder on the dance floor
If you didn't have a So Fresh CD were you even really a Millennial? The compilation albums literally provided the soundtrack for your younger self and it's time to relive your heyday. Channel your inner Gwen Stefani, Destiny's Child or Justin Timberlake and take over the dance floor at Mr Wolf this weekend. Strides and Nemo will be on deck playing all your childhood favourites at Mr Wolf pres. So Fresh Wolf for a night of nostalgia and absolute bangers from 2000 to 2018. Friday, 10pm-4am. Free.
2. In the bag
Is there any better feeling than when someone asks where you got your bag from? Well, yes - but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel good. Especially when said bag is one of your own creation. Head to Scullin Traders this weekend with a tote bag or even an old t-shirt or jumper and create your own merchandise. The cash donations to take part in the screen printing event will go towards the installation of climbing grips on the new mural at Scullin shops. Saturday, 10.30am-3.40pm.
3. The Winter Forage is coming
How good is winter food? The cold weather is the perfect excuse to indulge in comfort food - plus you don't have to worry about the perfect summer bod for a few months at least! Grab your mates (and your beanies) and head to The Winter Forage this weekend and stock up on street food, beverages, mulled wine, warm ginger beer and entertainment. And don't worry, if your beanie (and possibly thermals) aren't warm enough, there will be fire drums that you can grab a spot by. Saturday, 2-7pm. 1 Dairy Road, Fyshwick.
4. Truffle kerfuffle
It's that time of year again when truffles seem to take over every foodie event in Canberra. But if you're looking for an Australian native twist on the European truffle this event might be for you. Start your tour with a tasting of truffle cheese paired with wine from Mount Majura Vineyard, before listening to stories about the importance of the relationship between the truffle and their gardeners - the eastern bettong. The Truffles, Tannins and 'Tongs event will also give you the chance to step into the evening and see these marsupials search and dig for the truffles. Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary, 4.30-6.30pm. Tickets are $80 from mulligansflat.org.au.
5. Let's get political
