The Wanderers will appear in their first Federation Cup final at Deakin Stadium on Saturday, but standing in their way is a side whose trophy cabinet is bursting at the seams.

To say Belconnen United has dominated women's football over the past decade would be an understatement.

They've won five consecutive Federation Cups and six of the past eight league grand finals, making a mockery of quality opposition along the way.

But Woden-Weston captain Cassia McGlashan says her side can't be overawed by their opponents if they want to lift the trophy on Saturday.

"Something we'll be working on is just keeping our heads in our game," McGlashan said.

"Obviously they have got some super players and a lot of speed in their team, so ideally we'll be shutting them down early.

"But the main goal for me [as captain] is just to keep everyone in their own heads and working together."

A win for Woden will go a long way to erasing the memories of their last clash with the Blue Devils, which ended in a 12-0 humiliation.

That match was over a month ago and McGlashan says the Wanderers are a different side than the one that played that day.

"They were early days in the season and we were still trying to find our feet a little bit," McGlashan said.

"We definitely took it to them in the second-half once we settled down a bit and I think it showed the attitude of our team to come back and keep playing no matter the score line."

Belconnen will start as heavy favourites on Saturday, but captain Lauren Keir says she is taking nothing for granted against a much improved side.

"There's a few teams in the competition that have really progressed from the start of the season, including Woden-Weston," said Keir.

"It's great to see them in the grand final, they've worked really hard to get where they are and hopefully we can put on a good show."
