Not only one of the Green Machine's co-captains, but one of the best hooker's in the world as well.
Having got the job done in Sia Soliola's 100th game for the Raiders, Hodgson's teammates have now set their sights on doing the same for their No.9.
The 29-year-old will bring up his century milestone against the New Zealand Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium on Friday, as the fourth-placed Raiders look for their fourth straight win.
He joined the Green Machine ahead of the 2015 NRL season as an England international.
While he raised a few eyebrows on the eve of his arrival by jumping through a door in a New Zealand dorm room while on England's Four Nations tour, he's been nothing but a revelation since arriving in Canberra.
He's widely acclaimed as one of the best hookers in the business and he's added the captain's armband, which he shares with Jarrod Croker, to his resume.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said Hodgson's influence went beyond the position he played on the field and was felt throughout the club.
"Josh has got to where he is today purely through his dedication and the hard work he puts in," Stuart said.
"His attention to detail to all the one per cent pieces of play - his kicking game, his passing game, just the fundamentals - is second to none and that's really improved his football.
"Where he stands in the game today is a credit to the hard work he puts in."
Fellow England international Elliott Whitehead said Hodgson was one of the reasons he joined the Raiders.

While they hadn't played together - they were part of England's Four Nations squad in 2014 - just having that fellow Englishmen in the capital made a difference.
Now there's a Barmy Army of them in Canberra, with another on the way in halfback George Williams.
Whitehead agreed with Stuart that Hodgson's influence went beyond the footy field.
"It was Sia's [100th last] week and as a group we like to make it special for the boys that are reaching those milestones," he said.
"It's another [this] week for Hodgey so hopefully the boys can step up and get the win for him.
"He's a big influence on us - what he brings, even off the field.
"He gets the boys together a lot and makes sure we're all in a good place.
"He's a good mate of mine and he's helped me a lot here - as well as a lot of the other boys here. He's always thinking about the other boys and not just himself.
"On the field his influence is massive. He got given the [co-captaincy] because he's a leader, he's a natural at that, he wants to win and he's a competitor. And the boys bounce off that."
Hodgson's fellow co-captain said the Yorkshireman had become a part of Canberra.
He'd also become a leader and someone Croker had leant on during his time as skipper.
Hodgson's 100th will be Croker's 249th, with the following week's home game against the third-placed Sydney Roosters potentially an even bigger milestone.
"He's been great, he's developed into a leader of the club and he calls Canberra home," Croker said.
"I'm sure Canberra calls Hodgo one of their favourite sons.
"He's been here for a few years now and he's brought the club along.
"Sia and Hodgo have been two guys who have helped out so much with my leadership.
"I've always had those two guys either side of me. It's been great for my mateship and development as a leader."
