They are Sister Judy Bowe and Sister Therese Mills, two nuns from Canberra and long-time friends.
The Missionaries of God's Love Sisters are based in Kambah where Sister Judy is the leader and Sister Therese is the vocations director.
They are one of 11 teams racing around the globe, competing for a cash prize of $250,000.
"They other teams might be a bit threatened by us because we've got the Big Fella on our side," Sister Therese said in the show's promo.
The teams will have to do everything from bungy jump, to deal with recalcitrant camels, to kayak down rapids. And Sister Judy and Sister Therese do it all in their mission-brown uniforms.
Sister Judy, 53, studied art education and spent a year backpacking around Australia after university.
"I joined the MGL Sisters in January 1991," she said, in her online bio.
"Until a short time before this I had no desire for religious life and had strong ambitions in the direction of marriage and children. My plans changed completely when I fell in love with Jesus."
Sister Therese, 45, trained as a childcare worker.
"I made my final vows with the Missionaries of Gods Love in November, 2008. I have never been married but I have to say that this day was like my wedding day, I loved it," she said.
"I never thought about religious life. At school all I ever wanted to do was to become a nurse or a police officer and get married and have a couple of kids."
She later met the sisters and was "inspired by their way of life".
And Sister Therese sounds like a real character.
"One of my roles as an MGL Sister is having the opportunity to take young people on mission," she said.
"I used to say that one of the best jobs that I ever did was dressing up as B1 (Banana in Pyjamas) to do children's parties, but, the opportunity to take young people on mission and seeing lives change is by far the greatest experience ever."
The publicity for The Amazing Race says the Canberra nuns should not be underestimated.
"Judy is incredibly fit, swimming 1.5km and running 17km a week, while Therese's preferred mode of transport is a non-motorised scooter," it says.
"While these ladies are committed to God above all else, they are experienced travellers, having ticked off Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines together."
Hosted by Beau Ryan, The Amazing Race Australia is coming soon to WIN.
