9am: This new gallery is opening at 7 Jeffies Place, Gowrie. Art works by Brett and Cara Page include oil paintings, resin, copper and recycled Canberra wood and metals. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 2pm until November 13. It will reopen on January 17 and next year its opening hours will be Thursday to Saturday 9am to 2pm.
The Palette of Velia Newman
2pm: Artist Velia Newman's exhibition, emphasising colour, texture and imagination, opens at Aarwun Gallery and continues until November 17.
Charley's Aunt

Terminator films
6pm: Before seeing the new Terminator movie you can rewatch the first two on the big screen at the Arc Cinema, National Film and Sound Archive. The Terminator (1984) is at 6pm and Terminator 2: Judgement Day is at 8pm. Tickets $12/$10: nfsa.gov.au.
The 39 Steps
2pm: Final day of performances for the State Theatre Company of South Australia's production of the comedy thriller about a man wrongly suspected of murder who is on the run from the police and spies. The play, based on the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film, has four actors playing more than 100 characters among them - sometimes more than one at a time. The Playhouse, Canberra Theatre Centre. Also 8pm. Two exhibitions
10am: Two exhibitions opened at Belconnen Arts Centre on Friday. HOLD is a show by 18 ceramic artists of works that combine functionality with aesthetic value. Silver Linings has works by the members of the Painting With Parkinsons group. Both shows close on November 24. The address is 18 Emu Bank, Belconnen.
