Alex Blackwell will return to Canberra for one last hurrah with the Border Bullets in a Cricket NSW Regional Bash clash against the ACT Aces at Chisholm Oval on Sunday.
It means 20-year-old Aces skipper Kelly Rowlings will need to devise a plan to skittle one of the country's finest in a bid to reach the finals of the landmark Twenty20 tournament.
The winner of Sunday's clash will advance to a semi-final date with the Illawarra Flames at the SCG on January 21, with the final to be played that evening.
"I had a wonderful time with the Sydney Thunder playing my final professional season of cricket," Blackwell said.
"I've had a long career playing for Australia, NSW, Sydney Thunder, but it all started playing country cricket in the Riverina.
"I get to go back this Sunday and play a Twenty20 cricket match for the Border Bullets in Canberra.

"I'm really looking forward to it, and hopefully encouraging the next up and coming cricketers from country NSW."
The veteran of 251 internationals is a huge boost for the Bullets as they look to capitalise on her inclusion after the initial date of the game was washed out.
Blackwell's return to Canberra comes weeks after she led the Thunder to a superb WBBL triumph over the Melbourne Stars at Manuka Oval.
She had stacks of family members in the stands to watch her rack up a classy 65 - but now Rowlings is determined to spoil the party.
"Obviously it's a very handy signing for them. For our girls, it's a whole different challenge now," Rowlings said.
"She has obviously got a wealth of experience and talent, and it'll be good for us to learn from her how to play the game at the highest level."
The Aces men's side has already booked a ticket to their Regional Bash finals day at the SCG on January 26.
Now Rowlings' women's outfit is determined to secure their place on the hallowed turf and set the tone for an ACT clean sweep.
"We've got a few watch," Rowlings said.
"We've got Clare Levings who has scored hundreds for fun in the local competition. We've got Bella Greig, a Goulburn girl, bowls absolute wheels and has been scoring runs in Sydney.

"We've got a few local girls as well, we've got Cherie Taylor and Amy Jason-Jones being rewarded for their form in the local competition. We've got a bit of depth, it's really exciting.
"It's good for the girls playing in the competition to play at a higher standard. It's also good for the girls playing in the region, just to see there is a pathway they can follow to play a higher level of cricket.
"I don't think any of our girls have ever played at the SCG. The opportunities to play on one of the best grounds in Australia and the world is huge."
