Get your foodie fill at Art, Not Apart feast on the National Film and Sound Archive lawns

This year, as the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary, there are also a few excellent foodie events in the mix. Held over the weekend of March 12-15, the big day is Saturday, March 14, where, for what is, apparently, the first time, there'll be a party on the lawns outside the National Film and Sound Archive.

As well as live music and entertainment there'll be a mini version of The Forage, with seven local vendors such as Ramen Daddy and Bare Bones BBQ serving up delicious food. Bar Rochford is hosting the bar and there's a Cellar Door wine tasting experience with 10 wineries on offer ($12 to try 60 wines). Held from noon til 7pm, it will be the focal point of the festival which spreads throughout the NewActon Precinct, to the Shine Dome, Albert Hall and the NFSA.

Looking for a very civilised way to watch Skyfire on March 14? Head to Bookplate at the National Library of Australia for live music, curated canapes and an open air lounge area.

From 6pm you'll be entertained by live music from the "Grass Stage" while you kick back in the lounge area and enjoy a two-and-a-half canapes package. Drinks aren't included in the ticket price but will be available in ample selection for your choosing, including craft beer and wine, all for purchase at a private bar. Didn't have much luck with your tomatoes this season? Head to this workshop run by the Food Co-op Shop and Cafe and pick up a few tomato tips from seedy to scrumptious. There'll be classes on how to make lovely rich passata from fresh tomatoes; making bocconcini cheese; and how to make fresh pasta from scratch. There will also be demonstrations on the best methods, tips and tricks for tomato seed saving. Followed by a yummy pasta, passata and caprese salad "'long-table" lunch devouring what you've just made, this is a hands-on, make-your-own event. Canberra Seed Savers will be there running a tomato seed swap. All this for the bargain price of $50 (or $30 for Co-op members).

Included are all three "hands on" workshops (passata, pasta, bocconcini making), seed saving demonstration and one bottle of your very own passata plus a scrumptious lunch. Bring your own drinks to share with lunch and any ripe tomatoes if you want to include them in the passata or save their seeds. Everything else will be provided. March 15, from 11am. While The Canberra Times Night Noodle Markets have packed up and gone for another year, there's still plenty happening during what's left of Good Food Month.

There are still a few tickets left for the Louis Tikaram dinner at Lanterne Rooms on March 13. It's a collaboration that will bring together the fire from his Southeast Asian menus at Longrain and E.P./L.P., the refined delicacy of Cantonese cuisine from Stanley and the authentic Nyonya flavours that dominate the menu at Lanterne Rooms to create a six-course banquet that will take guests on a flavour-packed culinary journey.

Also worth booking is the Terra x Andy Bowdy event on March 21 at Terra in the City. Bowdy is best known for his enchanting cakes and pastries at Saga in Sydney. The evening will consist of seven courses, three from the Terrra team and two savoury and two dessert courses from Bowdy. $85pp.
