It turns out you can be productive in isolation. All you have to do is be like Patty Mills, the Canberra-born basketballer who is making an impact even when he can't get on the court.

Mills' "Give Mama Coffee" campaign on Mother's Day raised more than $100,000 in less than 24 hours for the Battered Women and Children's Shelter in San Antonio.
San Antonio experienced an 18 per cent rise in domestic violence reports in the first weeks of coronavirus isolation. So Mills and wife Alyssa decided to do their part, encouraging people to buy coffee on Mother's Day and then doubling the sales to make a donation.
In the end they presented a cheque to a shocked boss of the organisation, Marta Palaex, with the final tally rising to $103,965.76. Donations flooded in from around the world to support Mills' campaign and the eight participating cafes reported having lines out the door.
"San Antonio, a massive shout out to you from the bottom of my heart," Mills said on social media. "Your appearance and your support and your care for our community, our city was unbelievable. Thank you very much ... we are forever grateful to you."
The fundraising effort was a remarkable result given it was organised and announced just days before Mother's Day and went from 7am until 2pm.
"Driving up and seeing how busy [the cafes] were, [people] honking the horn, pumping music and just bringing those good vibes just heightened what we were all doing together," Mills said.

Mills has thrown himself into projects away from basketball in recent years, becoming one of Australia's most respected athletes for his off-court work as much as what he does on it.
He is hoping the San Antonio Spurs get to restart their season, which was paused on March 11. The NBA is discussing options to reboot the campaign before the play-offs, with hub proposals in Orlando and Las Vegas being considered.
