Last week inspectors visited 21 construction sites in the suburb, as part of its ongoing Operation Safe Prospect Campaign.
From the inspections, there were 41 improvement notices, 13 prohibition notices and four infringement notices issued.
Work health and safety commissioner Jacqueline Agius said she was alarmed by the number of notices issued, particularly as it did not show a noticeable improvement from an inspection in the suburb earlier this year.
"When we kicked off Operation Safe Prospect in Denman Prospect (in August 2020), we visited around 61 sites, and issued approximately 16 prohibition notices, 35 improvement notices and one infringement," she said.
"I'm disappointed to see that just four months after our first visit to Denman Prospect, we are still seeing the same WHS issues in this suburb.
"In particular, scaffolding safety continues to be a major issue; during this inspection we saw workers risking their lives by working at heights with no fall protection, using unsafe scaffold, and using ladders to support single planks."
Ms Aguis said other issues identified included safe work methods not being in place or followed, site security, untidy sites, no site signage and electrical safety.
"It's time for industry to get real about safety and stop cutting corners so every worker can go home safely at the end of their shift," she said.
The number of infringement and improvement notices issued by WorkSafe ACT has more than doubled this year. In the first nine months of 2020, WorkSafe ACT issued 95 infringement notices compared to 41 through 2019.
The workplace compliance watchdog has cracked down on the residential construction industry this year through its Operation Safe Prospect Campaign.
The campaign is named after two construction workers who lost their lives in separate incidents at Denman Prospect work sites earlier this year.
