Ceramic Plate Workshop: Ceramic artist and educator Josephine Townsend will be hosting this beginner-friendly ceramic plate workshop at POP Canberra. Participants will get the chance to complete several plates using a variety of techniques to make them your own. PhotoAccess Open Day: PhotoAccess is the ACT and regions leading centre for contemporary photography, film and video, and media arts and will be hosting its annual open day on February 20 from 12pm located at the Manuka Arts Centre. Guests will have the opportunity to view south-eastern Australia's only open-access darkroom, as well as many contemporary works from artists-in-residence, and partake in many hands-on activities including an augmented reality treasure hunt. See how the current artists-in-residence are experimenting in the darkroom and the digital realm. There will also be all-ages, photo-fun activities such as designing your own cyanotype T-shirts and sitting for a take-home, large format family portrait. Lunar New Year at Republic: Grazier Lane at the Republic Precinct comes to life to mark the Year of the Ox with the vibrant sights, tastes and sounds of Asia. There'll be street-food stalls, live music, dragon dancing and plenty of family fun. There will be a vibrant display including a tunnel of traditional lanterns and glowing lights will turn the whole precinct an photo-worthy crimson. February 20, 10am-4pm.
Summer Wine Cruises: The view of the lake from the back-deck of Canberra Party Boat's infamous Maid Marion provides the perfect backdrop to an afternoon spent sipping rose and learning about some of the over 5000 different wine grapes.
