Hodgson was one of four additions to the NRL player advisory group announced on Friday, along with Michael Morgan, Alex Glenn and Moses Mbye.
And Raiders teammate Sia Soliola, who was already on the NRL PAG and was a Rugby League Players' Association director, felt being part of the group would enhance Hodgson's leadership even further.
Hodgson became an RLPA delegate during the COVID-19-affected 2020 season.

"It's great to have Alex, Moses, Josh and Michael officially join the PAG," Soliola said.
"I know they all stepped up throughout last year as RLPA delegates and it's great to see them transition into this important role.
"I know firsthand that the views and opinions shared in this forum help guide the direction of the RLPA team and are often brought forward to the [RLPA] board to assist with decisions we make.
"I think the other important advantage of the PAG is that it provides us players with the opportunity to further develop as leaders and learn more about certain areas of the game.
"We have a strong group of player leaders involved who will no doubt be keen to play a key role in shaping the game moving forward."
The new group will meet in the coming weeks with the new NRL rules and their effects a potential topic for discussion. The PAG was formed in 2019.
