The footbridges in the Umbagong District Park were found to be unfit for public use, primarily due to deterioration in the timber.
ACT government said it was aware the park was an important recreational space for the community and that the paths were well utilised.
"We are working on an approach to make sure the three footbridges are safe and access is maintained for the community," a spokesperson said.
"We will keep the community updated on the bridge works as it progresses."
Routine safety inspections are undertaken across all parks in the ACT to identify assets that require maintenance or replacement, according to ACT government.
