The Score Raiders will play the Score Dragons at Wollongong on Saturday as the curtain raiser for the NRL clash between the Canberra Raiders and St George Illawarra.
It means there'll be a building crowd as they run out onto the pristine NRL ground ahead of the Raiders heroes.
They met up with the Green Machine at Raiders HQ after their captain's run on Friday.
O'Donnell was excited at the prospect of pay back against the Dragons for last year's loss.
"It'll be pretty nerve racking with hundreds of thousands of people watching you and getting an idea of what we do," he said on Friday.
"To beat the Dragons [on Saturday] would be amazing. They beat us last year in a big way. So to get revenge on them would be pretty good."
Score Raiders kicked off their season over a month ago, competing in the Canberra Region Rugby League in the under-14 competition.
Playing games against Bungendore, Queanbeyan Kangaroos, South Tuggeranong Knights, Tuggeranong Buffaloes, Yass Magpies, Valley Dragons and the North Canberra Bears.
O'Donnell, who has played for the Score Raiders since 2019, said it's a different challenge playing in the under-14s, but the respect shown from their opponent hasn't gone unnoticed.
The squad will be playing 10 games for the first time this season, with seven matches against the under-14 sides, two against the Score Dragons - with the second match to be played later in the season and one opponent yet to be named.
