The family-owned-and-operated business will be on the Bunda Street side of the centre, its first foray into the national capital over 40 years of trading. (Although, we keep thinking about a similarly-named furniture shop on the ground floor of Woden Plaza years ago. Any takers?)
The 1835-square metre Coco Republic store in Canberra is downstairs where Lincraft used to be, on the southern side of the Canberra Centre.
The showroom incorporates Coco Republic's first L'Americano Espresso Bar, also open from Friday, initially just for coffee and sweet treats and then full service from November 5.
"We're super excited to be able to present a new concept that is unique to Canberra," Coco Republic chief executive Anthony Spon-Smith said.
"Enjoy Campari sodas, a good meal or a coffee whilst designing your perfect interior."
Mr Spon-Smith said the company had enjoyed increased online demand from Canberra customers over recent years, which led to the first bricks-and-mortar store in the national capital.
"We identified an increase in web traffic and orders from the Canberra region, hence the decision to expand in the region," he said.
The opening of the store would have happened sooner, if not for lockdown.
"We have experienced significant challenges fitting out through COVID, yes, which resulted in some delays. We are excited to be able to unveil the curtain this Friday, finally," Mr Spon-Smith said.
