The election campaign took a surprise turn on Thursday night when Anthony Albanese tested positive to COVID-19 and went into isolation for a week.
With the Labor leader unable to campaign in person, the party is turning to its back-up plans and will wheel out other senior figures to try convince the public to elect it into government.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who has already had COVID, will continue his campaign on Friday starting in Brisbane where he is warning voters against a hung parliament.
