A Service NSW worker is in intensive care and a man has been charged after a stabbing in Sydney's central business district on May 5.

The 55-year-old man was stabbed in the lower back, chest and shoulder about 9.20am, a NSW Police spokesperson said.
His alleged attacker, who was "well known" to police, entered the Haymarket Service Centre, had a short conversation with the male employee and then produced a bladed knife without provocation, police said.
Customer Service Department secretary Emma Hogan said the employee underwent surgery in hospital and was in a stable condition in intensive care.
"Our staff deserve to go home safely," she said.
A 37-year-old man was arrested by police and underwent a medical assessment, Detective Superintendent Martin Fileman said.
Police have charged the man with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The Punchbowl man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on May 6.
The Haymarket Service Centre will remain closed for the weekend and all other staff at the centre are being offered counselling and support, a department spokesperson said.

Premier Chris Minns said the incident was "horrifying".
"The thoughts of our government and our state are with this worker and their family at what is no doubt a very difficult time," he said.
"To all the staff at Service NSW and those first responders on the scene - thank you."
NSW Liberal leader and Cronulla MP Mark Speakman said he was shocked by the attack on a frontline Service NSW worker.
"Nobody deserves to be harmed while doing their job serving the public," he said on Twitter.
"Thank you to the first responders who provided assistance. Wishing for a quick recovery."
