Now Canberra Airport has made this joyful time even sweeter.
Passengers were delighted on Tuesday when they found gingerbread on the baggage carousel as they collected their belongings.
It was another example of Canberra Airport spreading some holiday cheer.
And the airport is certainly giving everything it's got this Christmas. Carol singers have also been adding to the festival spirit in the terminals, and a flash mob recently wowed passengers.
Travellers were very surprised when the dancers took over the main atrium of the domestic terminal for the five-minute pop-up hip-hop performance.
The dancers, from Elevate Academy in Canberra, a dance and music training and mentoring school, also danced to three songs in the ground-level arrivals hall in a very festive display.
