Unsurprisingly, he also happens to be his kids' favourite thing to bring for show and tell. How many people can say their full-time grind is building with Lego?
Based in Melbourne, McNaught leads a team of seven craftspeople in some of the world's largest Lego builds and for the first time, he's bringing it to Canberra.
'The Brickman Experience' will arrive just in time for the school holidays, showing at EPIC from 28 September through to 14 October 2018.
"This exhibition has quite a few record breaking models. The world's largest Lego flower, a Lego ferrari - because I can't afford a real one - and giant pieces of arts, these huge mosaics," said McNaught.
"We've also got heaps of different activities for kids to do their own stuff. It's quite a hands on event. Not just for coming and having a look, it's more than that."
Made with over five million bricks, the exhibition will also showcase McNaught's biggest ever Star Wars build and a model Airbus A380. So nerds, ready yourselves.
He notes how even after all these years, Lego still brings out his inner child. It's all about the challenge, he says.
Canberra's Lego enthusiasts - young and old - will get to take on part of this challenge with the interactive master builder zones.
"There are quite a few challenges we set for participants to build. So I'm curious to see what they come up with.
"Having done this for a long time, I've seen Lego from lots of different angles. I've seen what Queenslanders make, what Victorians make, so I'm looking forward to seeing what Canberrans make."

McNaught believes that despite the range of toys available these days, nothing beats Lego.
"I've got twin 10-year-old boys. One week they're into cars, the next they want to be astronauts, and then they want to be archaeologists, and then they want to play with dinosaurs.
"With Lego bricks, you can do all that. By being so versatile, they can change into what ever the kids' current obsession is."
