Samisoni Loloma Baikeitoga, 23, maintained pleas of not guilty in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday to a charge of sexual intercourse without consent.
Defence lawyer Jacob Robertson said his client denied the charge and waved committal proceedings so the matter could be sent to the ACT Supreme Court.
Mr Baikeitoga – who recently graduated from the military training college – had been a cadet at Duntroon at the time of the alleged rape on April 1.
Court documents said the woman had been asleep in her room when she was awoken to find her pants and underwear removed and a man on top of her engaging in sexual intercourse.
She told the man to "stop" several times but he did not, the documents allege.
The documents say that the woman then shifted her weight to the side and the man got up and left, however, she did not get a good look at him.
The next morning, she reported the matter to police.
Days later, Mr Baikeitoga allegedly approached the woman and asked if she remembered him from "the night before".
DNA testing identified Mr Baikeitoga as a match to the samples taken from the woman during a forensic examination, court documents said.
The documents further allege that when police searched the accused's phone, a web history revealed that since the alleged rape he had searched "how to beat a sexual assault charge", "sexual assault sentence ACT", "how long does semen remain in the vagina" and "can you leave the country whilst under investigation".
The matter was listed to reappear for mention next month.
Special Magistrate Margaret Hunter continued Baikeitoga’s bail.
