Labor is off and running

Any idea that Scott Morrison's 2018 budget was a political masterstroke, likely to win re-election for the Turnbull government, seemed pretty much dead in the water long before Bill Shorten rose to his feet on Thursday night to deliver the opposition's reply. The Morrison budget had received some polite applause from the expected constituencies, but it could hardly be said to have much galvanized anyone, positively or negatively.
