A second New South Wales man is set to be extradited across the border in relation to the 12-year-old alleged cold case murder of a young north Queensland man.

Jay Anthony Brogden was 21 years old when he disappeared from Cannonvale, a coastal area in the Whitsunday region, on April 21, 2007.
On Tuesday, a 32-year-old Coffs Harbour man, who previously lived in the Whitsundays town of Airlie Beach, was charged by NSW police in relation to separate matters. Queensland detectives will apply for his extradition.
On Tuesday, Detective Inspector Damien Hansen stressed that the case was far from completed and investigations were ongoing.
Inspector Hansen said further arrests were likely and the charges expected to be laid were murder and accessory after the fact.
Last week, a 33-year-old man was also extradited to Brisbane from Sydney under police guard.
He was extradited for a breach of parole related to a stabbing in Airlie Beach in 2009 but was also placed under arrest in relation to Mr Brogden's disappearance.
Inspector Hansen said the two extraditions followed numerous people approaching police with new information, including people associated with the alleged group of suspects.
Police launched a billboard campaign along the Bruce Highway at Cannonvale earlier this month, in the hope fresh information would come to light.
There is still a $250,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction as well as the offer of indemnity from prosecution for any accomplices, not the principal offender.
Mr Brogden's body has never been found.
He had fought violently with his partner earlier that day, and he had reportedly received death threats previously because of his treatment of her.
Inspector Hansen said earlier this month there were several people of interest in the case.
He said people who knew of the murder could be more comfortable coming forward 12 years on because they may have moved away from their old circle of friends.
During an inquest in 2015, a Queensland coroner recommended police review their procedures after they took three years to report the suspected death of Mr Brogden.
