ACT Fire and rescue were called to the incident in Furzer Street about 2.15pm.
Firefighters have been unable to find the exact source of the smoke after searching the building but it is believed to have come from a server room.
The Hazmat crew conducted atmospheric monitoring and deemed the area safe allowing 800 workers forced outside during the evacuation to return inside.
