The Bachelorette has visited the wild side of Canberra. No, she didn't venture to the deep, dark reaches of Fyshwick but filmed a spot for the popular, looking-for-love reality show at Canberra's National Zoo and Aquarium and its accompanying Jamala Wildlife Lodge.

Wednesday's episode was the first time Canberra had featured on The Bachelorette Australia.
Bachelorette Georgia Love went on a single date with industrial designer Courtney Dober to Canberra's National Zoo and Aquarium, having a number of "animal encounters" and an afternoon tete-a-tete at the Jamala Wildlife Lodge with lions and hyenas loitering in the background.
All that lurve apparently didn't have an impact on the animals, who weren't given to amorous displays themselves.
"The animals did behave themselves," operations manager Renee Osterloh said.
"Unfortunately, it was a little wet on the day and everyone had to dress up in gumboots. But it certainly didn't detract from their experience."
Producers approached the Jamala Wildlife Lodge to feature in the show – an appearance that was not paid for – to showcase its five-star luxury accommodation in the grounds of the zoo.
Guests can sleep in the company of lions, a tiger, cheetah, bear, monkeys, giraffes – all on the other side of reinforced glass or fences. It also has African-inspired gourmet dining.
The lodge has attracted the attention of other national TV shows including Better Homes and Garden, Getaway and the morning programs.
Ms Osterloh said it was all helping to break down stereotypes about Canberra and show the national capital offered unique breaks and stays.
"For some of our high-end accommodation, we can be booked out a month to two months in advance," she said.
"At this time of year, with Floriade on, it's a really busy time for tourism."
The Bachelorette Australia screens on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on WIN.
