Neelander Neel Sirohi, 31, picked the woman up at 3.20am from a taxi rank near the Civic bus interchange on Alinga Street in August 2013.

The woman was extremely vulnerable when she got in the car. She was heavily intoxicated, having consumed alcohol and prescription medication, and remembered feeling sleepy during the drive.

Sirohi sexually assaulted her while she was in the front seat.

He then took her back to his home in Harrison, and again sexually assaulted her before dropping her home.

The victim told police she had little memory of the ordeal.

She made a complaint soon after, police alleged in earlier court documents, telling her mother:

"Something happened to me, it was the taxi driver."

The woman was later medically examined.

Sirohi initially denied her claims to police and pleaded not guilty to the allegations in the ACT Magistrates Court.

But he appeared in the ACT Supreme Court on Wednesday and was arraigned on two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

Sirohi, represented by barrister James Sabharwal, pleaded guilty to both counts.

Justice John Burns ordered a pre-sentence report be completed, and Sirohi will be brought back to court in August.
