A truck used to transport crushed cars has caught fire and now been extinguished at SIMS Metal Yard on Alderson Place in Hume on Monday.

The blaze, which firefighters were alerted to at 2.59pm, was contained to the truck.
Firfighters used a excavator to pull the load apart in order to extinguish the fire.
Emergency services said there were no injuries and only minor damage to the truck.
