It is her first time at the fireworks extravaganza on Lake Burley Griffin and the 17-year-old will be in the box seat to enjoy the display.
She will be in the extraordinary position of performing on stage as an expected crowd of more than 100,000 assembles, after she won a talent competition run by radio station 104.7, which puts on Skyfire.
- Send us your Skyfire Selfies. The singer will perform four songs at Skyfire from 5.15pm after sending in a video of herself singing a cover of the Ed Sheeran hit I See Fire, then winning the talent quest ahead of four other finalists in a performance at Westfield Belconnen.
''I'm so excited,'' she said. ''One of my friends told me how many people were supposed to be there and I just couldn't believe it.''
A large contingent of supporters from Yass are expected to travel to Canberra to support Siobhan, who has been singing in public for three or four years.
''[The 104.7 breakfast presenters] Scotty and Nige said I was a mix between Adele and Lorde. I personally don't see it, but it's a huge compliment,'' she said.
The big fireworks show is expected to explode over the lake at 8.30pm on Saturday, but there will be entertainment from the late afternoon. The Skyfire entertainment starts at 4.30pm with dancing children and a talent show. The Federation Guard displays will be on at 6.05pm and 6.35pm, the Navy Squirrel helicopter display at 6.15pm, the Snowy Hydro rescue helicopter display at 6.30pm, the RAAF Hornet jet-handling display at 6.55pm, and former Canberra singer Timomatic will perform at 7.30pm.
Home and Away stars Tai Hara and Cassie Howarth will be on stage at 8pm.
The best vantage points to see the fireworks will be the shores of the central basin of Lake Burley Griffin, Regatta Point, Black Mountain Tower, the National Carillon, Mount Ainslie, Red Hill Lookout, and Mount Pleasant, Duntroon.
Action buses will put on special services. Go to action.act.gov.au for timetables.
