The haul was discovered during a raid on a newly built home in the northern reaches of Gungahlin about 7am this morning.
Detectives swooped on the property on Proud Street following a public tip-off, one of a number they have received regarding the local cannabis trade in the past month.
Inside the small home they found a substantial and sophisticated hydroponic system, growing 90 plants with a potential street value of $300,000 in various rooms and the garage.
No one was inside the home, and police have not identified any suspects or made any arrests at this stage.
The plants were about two months into their growth cycle, and were just four to six weeks from being ready to hit ACT streets.
Criminal Investigation detectives, led by Detective Sergeant Shane Scott, have dealt a number of blows to the local marijuana supply in the past month.
He said today's haul would help make some dent in the trade, which often acts as a funding source for other, more serious crimes.
"It's been a clandestine set up, with diverted power and obviously blacked out windows, so that members of the public aren't alerted to the fact that this is going on inside the premises," he said.
Earlier this month, another sophisticated cannabis grow house was uncovered at a home in Macgregor.
That house was found growing 94 cannabis plants, the biggest police seizure in over 12 months.
And just a week a later, detectives were tipped off to a large collection of hydroponic equipment, including bulbs and fertilisers, which was dumped near bins at Kaleen High School.
Detective sergeant Scott said authorities were still trying to establish whether there were any links between the separate discoveries.
Police are urging the public to keep a watchful eye on neighbouring properties, looking for any signs that a grow house may be operating, including untidy, unmaintained yards and blacked out windows.
Anyone with information on the Forde grow house is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,
