Drivers have been hit with a hike in petrol prices in the capital, jumping to almost 150 cents a litre overnight.

Motormouth, a website dedicated to monitoring fuel prices throughout the country, listed prices at 149.9 cents a litre at several service stations throughout Canberra, including outlets in Manuka and Fyshwick.
It is a jump of more than 10 cents a litre from the average fuel price over the week ending August 12, reported as 139 cents a litre by the Australian Institute of Petroleum.
Earlier this morning savvy drivers could still nab fuel at 134.9 cents a litre from the 7 Eleven service station in Braddon, but by 3pm this afternoon they too had upped the price.
On Monday, CommSec predicted the national Australia average retail petrol price to rise by 3 cents a litre over the following 7 to 10 days.
