The 12-year-old says it is a dream come true.
The other boys, from Brisbane, Melbourne and Newcastle, and Jamie were cast following extensive auditions.
The production will debut in Sydney in October and also play Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. But not Canberra, sadly.
Jamie has been training and performing in ballet, tap and jazz at Jayz Dance Company in Canberra since he was seven.
During that time, he was accepted in to the Australian Ballet School interstate program for three years running.
Jamie's love of Hollywood musicals led him to start singing lessons with Wild Voices Music Theatre.
Two years ago, he gained television experience while acting on a pilot TV show Team Rescue and in 2018 had a lead role in a short film After The Away.
His dance teachers at the Jayz Dance Company in Pialligo were "bursting with pride" following the announcement on Friday.
Their message to Jamie was: "work hard our boy, stay humble and enjoy every moment. We can't wait to watch you shine on that big stage". The best.
