Her friends and colleagues at Canberra advisory firm Proximity have gathered some pretty amazing prizes and auction including tickets to a Fleetwood Mac concert in August and passes to the Australian Golf Open in December.
There's even a chance to enjoy a run and brunch with ACT Greens leader, Shane Rattenbury.
She had an almost 20-centimetre-wide tumour above her heart, surrounding her major arteries.
On May 2, just one day after her 32nd birthday, Liz had her major operation at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, a procedure so epic that it required the skill of two surgeons over the 18-hour period.
She had the sac around her heart removed and replaced with a mesh one.
She had a left-side diaphragm reconstruction, fitted with a prosthetic diaphragm made out of Goretex.
The sac around her lung, the pleura, was also removed.
"The tumour had invaded the pleura and when they opened me up they found in excess of 35 additional tumours they couldn't see in the scans before the surgery," she said..
Sixty per cent of her left lung was also removed. She was in recovery for five weeks.
"The surgery was a huge success," she said.
"However, a few days later I had a large leak in my lymphatic system so I had to go under the knife again.
"After the second surgery I was nil by mouth for 10 days so I was super hungry, I could not even have a sip of water.
"I watched a lot of cooking shows strangely enough to curb my appetite."
Now back home in Canberra, Liz is continuing to recovery and forever grateful to her surgeons.
"Even though I am a bit breathless, I feel good," she said.
"They really saved my life. If they had not operated, I would have had no other options.
"I sent the surgeons a gourmet picnic hamper and they said, 'Thank you so much for your generous gift' and I was like, 'Are you kidding me? You saved my life.
"You cannot repay anyone after they have saved your life. I am so grateful."
Liz will be off work for some time recovering. She will need immunotherapy which is not covered under the PBS.
