Canberra's No.7 faces the bizarre scenario of potentially winning a grand final and then having to scramble to find a new home next season to accommodate the arrival of Wigan halfback George Williams.

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has taken particular delight in the maturity of Sezer this season in the chief playmaker role as the 28-year-old narrows his focus on a maiden grand final appearance against the Roosters on Sunday night.

The Raiders will add highly rated Englishman Williams to their growing British band next season alongside co-captain Josh Hodgson, John Bateman, Elliott Whitehead and Ryan Sutton.

Although Sezer has a year left to run on his deal in Canberra, he faces the prospect of being cut loose given that Jack Wighton is well established in the halves.

"I don't care one bit," Sezer said of his contract situation. "It is what it is. I've still got a contract here next year. You pay your manager six per cent of your contract for a reason. I'll leave everything with him. Hopefully I can showcase my skills and get something done."

The 28-year-old former Titans player will oppose retiring legend Cooper Cronk, who will farewell the NRL in his ninth time grand final appearance.

The contrast with Sezer couldn't be more stark as he fights for his NRL future while Cronk hopes to put the polish on a glorious career in his 372nd game in the top grade with the Storm and Roosters.

"My job is to be a footballer and that's what I focus on," Sezer said. "I train really well and just go out there and focus on what I need to do. As I said, everything is pretty irrelevant to me. I'll do my best to prepare as well as I can and play alongside my teammates next week.

"Obviously we had a bit of pressure on us coming home [in the preliminary final against the Rabbitohs] in one of the biggest games the club has had in a long time.

"We enjoy that [underdog] tag and we'll relish every single moment of the week. It wasn't pretty, but we got there and we've given ourselves a massive opportunity to do something with this group.

"You can't get to this time of year without character and grit. That mental fortitude is what we've built all year on beginning in pre-season to next year."

Brisbane will hit the open market to find a No.7 and recently met with out-of-favour Storm playmaker Brodie Croft, which could also open up an opportunity for Sezer if he can finish the season with his first premiership ring.
