The incident on August 26 saw seven Bimberi staff taken to hospital, forcing a code brown - an emergency management plan for external disasters - to be issued at ACT hospitals.
It took police two hours to secure the detention centre following the riot.
After several months of investigating the incident, ACT police have charged six teenagers with a range offences over the riot.
The charges include assault, conspiracy to escape, aggravated robbery, possessing an offensive weapon, obstructing a territory official, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and possessing stolen property.
One of the six teenagers has already faced court on the charges.
The remaining five will appear before the ACT Children's Court in December this year and February 2020.
