They came from behind to beat NSW 4-3 in the final at Blacktown on Saturday, capping a tournament where they won all 10 games.
Not even the Sydney rain, which forced the cancellation of several games, could put a dampener on the ACT's dominance as they won their 17th Australian championship.
They thrashed Queensland 10-0 in their semi-final to book a place in the decider, but soon found themselves three runs behind NSW after just two innings.
But a home run from ACT captain-coach Andrew Kirkpatrick got the favourites running and then an Evan Byrne homer put them ahead.
Byrne was named grand final MVP.
The only downside for the 89ers was the fact they couldn't win it in front of their home crowd.
They were initially meant to host the tournament, but Softball Australia were forced to move it to Sydney because of the smoke from the NSW bushfires.
It's likely to leave Softball ACT with a $60,000 hole in their budget as a result.
At least they'll be able to fill it partially with the John Reid Shield for another year.
They're clearly Australia's most dominant state, having now won it 17 times, with WA next best with 11.
