The Canberra Raiders travel to Auckland for their round two clash against the New Zealand Warriors for their historic double header with the ACT Brumbies at Eden Park.
New Zealand announced their fifth case of the deadly virus on Saturday.
Japan has either cancelled sporting events or played them in front of empty stands to prevent the spread of the virus.
While none of those measures are necessary in Australia or New Zealand just yet, the coronavirus has spread quickly around the world.
V'landys was confident the NRL was ready to move if it did become a threat.
"The management team have done a very good job with the coronavirus," he said.
"They've been keeping in touch with all the relevant health experts. We've got strategies in place to see what happens.
"It changes day to day and we're going to continue to monitor it.
"I think the team in the NRL have done a very good job in establishing communication with all the relevant decision makers and I'm confident if something happens we're ready to deal with it."

The Raiders have had an increase in free-to-air games this season off the back of reaching last year's grand final.
But their eight FTA games - only one of which is on a Friday night - still pales in comparison to the Brisbane Broncos' 18 FTA games with 10 of those on Friday night.
V'landys said the draw needed to be "fair and equitable", but stopped short of saying the Raiders should get a bigger slice of the pie.
FTA coverage not only helps clubs attract sponsorship, but it also leads to more support with more kids getting to see the team.
While the Raiders have been one of the most exciting teams in the NRL, Channel Nine has continued to shun them in preference for Brisbane and Sydney teams.
"I think there's so many good services you can watch the games without free to air," V'landys said.
"If you're a Telstra customer you can watch it on Telstra, if you're really a rugby league fan you can watch every game on Kayo, you can watch it on Foxtel.
"There's plenty of avenues you can get every game other than free-to-air.
"The scheduling is done using extensive algorithms. It's hard to get it right ... in life you're not going to get everything 100 per cent right and sometimes you're going to get it wrong.
"But as long as you're fair and equitable and there's no favouritism that's all you can ask.
"One of the things we have to look at in our broadcast situation is reach.
"It's not just about financial situations it's also as many eyeballs as possible so I understand what you're saying."
