A Hughes man has been arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of child abuse material, police say.

The man, 59, was arrested at his home on Wednesday, following a search of his property by the ACT joint anti-child-exploitation team.
Police said the man was charged with one count of possessing child abuse material. Electronic devices had been seized from the home during the search and would undergo forensic testing.
In the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, Magistrate Glenn Theakston granted the man bail on conditions including that he not access the internet except for internet banking and work purposes, and surrender his passport.
The man also must not loiter near or be in a school or childcare centre.
He is due in court again in June.
