Their three ABL games against the Sydney Blue Sox this year are set to be called off this afternoon, with the potential they could be rescheduled to later in the season.
It's hoped the Cavalry's three games against the Blue Sox at Blacktown will go ahead as planned on January 1-3.
But their three games this year - at Blacktown on Monday and at Narrabundah on Tuesday and New Year's Eve - will hopefully be shifted to later in the season.
As revealed by The Canberra Times, there's the potential for games to be played January 25-26 or the ABL season could be extended by a week.
Preparations for a blockbuster New Year's Eve game at Fort Narrabundah have been finalised for weeks, which is why they'll play an intense trial instead - to give their fans something to cheer for after an awful year.

Not only has the coronavirus already wreaked havoc on this season, but toxic smoke from the bushfires ruined the last campaign as well.
Given they had their opening series against the Perth Heat postponed due to the WA government closing their border to anyone who's been in NSW, the Cavalry were yet to play an ABL game with their two games against Melbourne at Narrabundah on the weekend their first taste of action.
Frank Gailey will start game one for the Cavalry, with former Major Leaguer Shawn Morimando to take the mound for game two.
Cavalry manager Keith Ward will have most of his squad available to face the Aces with Toronto Blue Jays prospects Samad Taylor and Chavez Young finishing their two weeks' quarantine on Thursday.
They will be without their Sydney-based players including David Kandilas and Dean Aldridge.
Capacity for The Fort has been set at 1060 - 65 per cent of their seated capacity.
