Haynes blasted an unbeaten 139 from 105 balls at the top of the order for the Breakers to anchor a nine-wicket win at Phillip Oval in Canberra on Friday.
The NSW opener blasted 24 boundaries to leave the ACT bowling attack left scrambling for ways to turn things around before the two sides meet in a return bout on Sunday.
Katie Mack (71) had top scored for the hosts but their total of 9-254 was run down in just 38.3 overs by a rampant NSW top order, with Alyssa Healy scoring 47 and Rachael Trenaman finishing unbeaten on 56.
The double bonus point win lifts the Breakers into third on the competition table and leaves the Meteors in sixth with just one win to their name, all but ending their slim finals hopes.
