Fresh from performing her track We are the Skywhales at the launch of Skywhalepapa, Pheno and her band are bringing a dynamic show of brand new music to The Street this weekend. Pheno, also known as Jess Green, is an Australian electric guitarist, vocalist and composer who has performed and recorded for theatre, dance and television with highlights including the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the 2019 Australian Women in Music Awards. 2. The Canberra Times Marathon Festival
Lace up your sneakers and stretch out those muscles - The Canberra Times Marathon Festival is on this weekend. Whether you're running your first big run, ready to snag a spot in the top 200 or raising money for charity, what better place to do it than in the capital? The festival has everything from a 5.4km course to a 50km ultra marathon, as well as a 2km kids dash. Sunday, 5am. Parkes Place West. 3. Circus Drag Show Spectacular
Come one, come all - the circus has come to town. Freaks, geeks and clowns - The Rainbow Underground promises it all and more in the Circus Drag Show Spectacular. Come for a night of spine-tingling shows, as the drag queens, kings and creatures entertain you. The Rainbow Underground is a non-profit queer arts organisation based in Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions of NSW. Saturday, 7pm. Kambri at ANU. Tickets are $24.60 from Moshtix.
4. Playful Endeavour
The Playful Endeavour returns to Glebe Park these April school holidays. The City Renewal Authority has partnered with Green Hat Workshop to create a loose-parts play space encouraging creative play for all ages and abilities. It will have a wide range of materials to spark the imagination such as hoops, poles, pipes, crates, ropes and tyres. There is also a big pile of dirt for children to experiment with, to build whatever their heart desires from sculptures and toy car tracks to the ever-famous mud pie. Friday to Sunday, from 10am to 4pm. Continues until April 18. Glebe Park. Free event.
5. Flix 'n Dickson
As the weather starts to cool down, so do the films at Flix 'n Dickson. The outdoor family film event is taking on the theme of "cool" for its April line-up starting this weekend with the DreamWorks film Abominable. It tells the story of three friends who discover a yeti and embark on a quest to reunite him with his family. Saturday, 6pm. Dickson Post Office courtyard. Free but registrations must be made Eventbrite.
