Regardless, Ryan Sutton's recovery has been likened to that of countryman Josh Hodgson.
Hodgson's repeatedly come back early from injury, including a knee reconstruction, and now it seems Sutton's cut from the same cloth.
The 25-year-old injured his elbow against Newcastle, but has only missed one game and returns to the Green Machine to face the Melbourne Storm at Canberra Stadium on Saturday.
His return couldn't come at a better time, with Raiders enforcer Josh Papalii suspended for the crunch match.
Sutton's drawn praise from Raiders coach Ricky Stuart for his professionalism around his rehabilitation.
"He's back earlier. It was always going to be one of those things that it was going to be what he could play with and how quickly he could recover," Stuart said.
"But a great example to some young players - very similar to Josh Hodgson - in regards to how they rehabilitate after games and during the week.
"They're two pros the way they do it and we've seen Josh come back before early."

Also coming into the Raiders side was debutant Brad Schneider, who was named in the No.14 jersey.
Stuart said he had a role in mind to get the 20-year-old playmaker into the game, but was also mindful he might be needed to cover injury in the backline.
But he didn't want to be drawn into what that role was until after the Storm game, preferring to challenge his players to make it a memorable debut for Schneider.
He'd loved the emotion Schneider had shown since being named, but impressed on the Townsville product the importance of switching his focus to the game.
"I have got a role in mind and also his utility value will help us in regards to covering outside backs and halves," Stuart said.
"Let's hope we're talking about it [Saturday] night and let's hope we're talking about a really memorable occasion for the young guy.
"The first game is the one game you'll always remember and I believe it's the responsibility of the other 16 to make it a memorable occasion for the debutant himself."
The Raiders will be without seven regular first-graders, while the Storm were also missing key players as well.
When Stuart glanced down the list - which included Papalii, Jack Wighton, Josh Hodgson, Cameron Munster, Ryan Papenhuyzen and Harry Grant - he saw an impressive team.
"I looked over our rehab group and the three boys who are suspended, and there's nearly a football team of Origin players and internationals there," he said.
"We're down a number of troops, but I couldn't be happier with the players that we've picked this week and how they've jumped up in preparation.
"[The Storm] might be down a couple of players like us, but as coaches you rely on the other guys to do the job.
"And they've got a number of experienced players there who will be asked to aim up - like I've asked my players who have got to step up now and the contribution's got to be higher."
