Only giving their first names to The Canberra Times, they joked that their main problem would be dividing the uneven cent from the last dollar.
Brian, an English brickie, of Evatt, said he would put the money in the bank and think about it for a while because "money ruins people and their values". He would consider taking his family around Australia.
Vince, also an English brickie, said he would go back to England with his family to see his mother.
Steve, a Canberra labourer, had no idea what would happen to his share except he would "sit on it" and finish off his house. His wife wanted to travel overseas to America and Japan.
"I could also buy Rod 'Rocket' Reddy from St George for Manly," he said.
All three would be resigning early from the building trade.
