ACT Policing said the men went into the Charnwood home and confronted a woman there about 1pm on Thursday.
"The men made demands of property and took a mobile phone after pushing the woman over," they said in a statement.
"The woman ran from the house and alerted neighbours. A short time later several men ran from the rear of the house."
Police said one man was picked up by a blue Ford Falcon G6E. It drove off at speed and was seen running through red lights shortly after at the Barton Highway and Clarrie Hermes Drive intersection.
Another three men ran down the street to another waiting vehicle.
Police are calling for dash-cam or CCTV footage of the blue Falcon or the men acting suspiciously in the area around 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
They asked anyone who could help their investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6958332. Information can be provided anonymously.
