The team behind The Dock at the Kingston Foreshore are the successful new operators of the East Kiosk and jetty on the southern shores of the lake.
The National Capital Authority announced The Dock Pty Ltd as the successful proponent to run the East Kiosk and Jetty at Commonwealth Place. The Dock has also been granted a separate three-month licence for activation of the West Jetty.
The Dock co-owner Jane Collins said the kiosk was now called The Jetty Kiosk.
It will be open year-round, seven-days-a-week, from 7am, catering to bridge-to-bridge walkers and other visitors. It will be serving up Axis Roasters Kingston local coffee blend, toasted 3 Mills ciabattas, acai bowls and other locally-made treats.
The Jetty BentSpoke Beer Garden is open Thursdays to Sundays until the end of March, kicking off from noon each day.
Local musicians play live, there is plenty to drink, food from the Peruvian street food truck Mr Papa and also ice cream and grazing boxes from The Jetty Kiosk throughout the afternoon and evening.
There is also a giant garden swing and games to amuse the kids.
Jane said the whole team felt privileged to work in such a beautiful location.
"The pandemic has hit the hospitality industry hard, like many others. Here at The Jetty, we believe a venue like this is exactly what Canberra needs in a time like this," she said.
"You can sit outside while catching up with friends and still enjoy a nice wine or great food. Come grab a BentSpoke beer off tap and soak in all of Canberra's icons."
