The team includes several new appointments and the confirmation of key senior staff who will manage journalists filing for The Canberra Times, canberratimes.com.au and the upcoming Canberra Times iPad app.
Editor-in-Chief Rod Quinn said appointing a new leadership team was a major step towards implementing a new newsroom structure.
''This is the group to guide The Canberra Times as we implement our strategy to deliver quality Canberra news, features, opinion and sport to audiences across multiple platforms throughout the day,'' Mr Quinn said.
''At a time when our audiences have never been bigger, with visitors to our website topping one million a month and with an exciting new iPad application only weeks away, we are confident that we can achieve our goal.''
New appointments include Natasha Rudra as sections editor, Jenna Clarke as life and entertainment editor, Karleen Minney as photographic editor, Ben Doherty as Monday to Saturday print editor and Patrick Baggoley as production editor.
In other key appointments, Canberra Times online editor Simon Holt has been named managing editor of Fairfax Media's Brisbane Times website and Julieanne Strachan moves from the Sunday Canberra Times to the role of arts editor.
Fairfax Media's Canberra printing arm, Capital Fine Print, has been honoured at the prestigious 2012 PANPA Newspaper of the Year Awards.
The Canberra Times pre-print supplement ''Black Opal Stakes'' won the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers' Association award for technical excellence in double-width press publishing in the 25,000 to 90,000 newspaper circulation category.
The Canberra Times was highly commended in the 25,000 to 90,000 circulation newspaper of the year category and photographer Colleen Petch was highly commended for metropolitan/national news photograph of the year.
