ACT Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm at the corner of Genge Street and Bunda Street about 10.30am, which prompted the evacuation of more than 200 people.
Occupants reported a smell of smoke on three floors in the building, however no fire was detected in a search.
Atmospheric monitoring did not detect any hazards, and, just after midday, the building was declared safe to reoccupy.
