Adam West said since the story was published last week, the company had received more than 200 applications in its search for an "astute candidate'' to join the business, Serendibitea.
"The story went everywhere and we're even getting applications from New Zealand,'' he said.
The company is still searching for the right person, with an announcement due soon.
With partner Vinu Gamage, Adam imports and blends the tea and sells it as the Southside Farmers Markets every Sunday morning.
While the professional tea drinker will be required for only a weekend, they will be paid for the privilege of tasting a range of tea.
Among the outlets to follow the story was Sunrise, with the Today show also planning to feature the Canberra couple soon.
