It makes for a romantic picture but bike riding in the Netherlands is just second-nature to the Dutch.
Want to see how they do it?
Why We Cycle, a documentary about the Dutch cycling culture, will be shown at the National Sound and Film Archive on Thursday, September 27 at 7pm.
The exclusive Canberra screening is being brought to the national capital by Pedal Power ACT and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as part of a worldwide EU Climate Diplomacy Week.
Dutch active transport planner Alex van Gent will also speak after the event. Tickets are $10. To register go visit here.
The tag for the film is "To the Dutch, cycling is as normal as breathing. We don’t think about it, we just do it.''
And the trailer is enough to get anyone on their bike.
