Emergency services were called to Belconnen Way about 5.40pm after the Toyota started burning.
An Emergency Services Agency spokeswoman said the fire had been referred to ACT Policing for investigation.
Traffic was delayed in the area for some time as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
