A drunk Macgregor man allegedly broke into his next-door neighbour's home and assaulted her in an "unprovoked attack", a court has heard.

It's alleged the man entered the woman's house some time between 8pm and 9.45pm on Sunday, and when she tried to run he held her and kissed her on the neck, and tried to lift her nightie.
They struggled, and the door slammed on her arm.
Court documents say the 26-year-old forced her into a bathroom, where he took her phone and put it in a drawer. She pushed past him towards the garage, but he allegedly pulled her back by her hair.
He threw her into a spare room and stopped her from leaving, police say, and she feared she would be raped or killed.
The two of them talked for a bit, before both left the house through the garage, and the woman sought help from a neighbour.
Police found the man asleep in the bedroom at his home next door.
He was too drunk to be interviewed by police.
The man faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with burglary, assault, unlawful confinement, two counts of property damage and an act of indecency without consent.
He applied for bail, but it was refused by Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker. The prosecutor cited fears the man was likely to reoffend, interfere with witnesses, and endanger the safety of the community.
"This appears to be an unprovoked attack," the prosecutor said.
She said the alleged incident could only be described as terrifying for the woman, and that the woman was fearful of the man returning.
She said the man was a suspect in police investigations into three other alleged attacks, one allegedly committed on a 12-year-old girl.
The man's Legal Aid duty lawyer told the court the man was father to two young children and lived with his wife in Macgregor. She said he supported his family through work. She said bail conditions, and another address at which he could live, could alleviate the risks.
She said the man hadn't been drinking for more than a year.
But Ms Walker refused the man bail, noting his previous convictions and a concern he was being investigated in other alleged attacks.
"While [the defendant] moving might reduce the risk to this complainant, it does not necessarily protect others," she said.
She said the risk of physical and psychological harm were too high.
The case will return to court later in January.
