Data from Instagram showed the Australian War Memorial was the most geo-tagged location in the ACT, with snappers favouring the reflecting pool and the view of Parliament House down Anzac Parade from the entrance steps.
While data didn't show other popular Instagram locations in the ACT, Sydney's Bondi Beach proved the most "#instagood" destination in the country.
Full disclosure, the hashtag "#instagood" was the eighth most popular in Australia, chasing after "#love" at number one.
Meanwhile, according to Visit Canberra's Instagram, a photo of kangaroos silhouetted by the 2016 supermoon in Urambi Hills Nature Reserve was its most liked photo of the year.
In its top 10, most liked photos, Black Mountain tower and Lake Burley Griffin seemed to capture the eyes of Canberra's visitors and natives, with sunsets and sunrises also a winning factor.
Visit Canberra's most commented on photo was taken atop Gibraltar Peak in Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, but popular subjects still tend to be Canberra's food and coffee scene.
This was probably inevitable as data from Instagram showed some of the other more popular hashtags in Australia were "#fitness" and "#food".
The other most geo-tagged locations in Australia included Surfer's Paradise in Queensland, Sydney Harbour bridge in Sydney and the St Kilda beach in Melbourne.
By state and territory it seemed beaches were the most popular, except in Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the ACT.
Uluru was the most popular spot in the NT, while in Tasmania it was the Museum of Old and New Art.
