As runners lace up for the 2016 Canberra Times Australian Running Festival this weekend, ACT authorities are warning a number of road closures may cause some disruption.

Acton, Barton, Kingston, Parkes, Griffith, Forrest and Yarralumla are among the suburbs affected by the temporary road closures on Saturday and Sunday.
Detour signs will be in place but motorists are advised to be cautious and allow for extra travel time.

The following roads will be closed from 4am to 10.30am on Saturday, April 9:
- Parkes Place West, from King George Terrace to King Edward Terrace
- King George Terrace from Langton Crescent to Walpole Crescent
- Langton Crescent from Queen Victoria Terrace to King Edward Terrace
- Queen Victoria Terrace from Langton Crescent to Kings Avenue
- Federation Mall East and Federation Mall West, from Queen Victoria Terrace to Parliament Drive
- Parliament Drive from Federation Mall West to Federation Mall East
- Walpole Crescent from Queen Victoria Terrace to King George Terrace
- King Edward Terrace from Commonwealth Avenue to Parkes Place West
- Flynn Drive to King Edward Terrace
- Alexandrina Drive from Flynn Drive to Hopetoun Circuit
- Flynn Drive from State Circle to King Edward Terrace
- Coronation Drive from Flynn Drive to Forster Crescent
The course for the Australian Running Festival marathon, taking place on Sunday, April 10 from 6.25am.
The following roads will be closed from 4am to 9am on Sunday, April 10:
- King George Terrace from Langton Crescent to Walpole Crescent
- Langton Crescent from Queen Victoria Terrace to King Edward Terrace
- Queen Elizabeth Terrace from Parkes Place West to Parkes Place East
- Federation Mall West and Federation Mall East from Queen Victoria Terrace to Parliament Drive
- Parliament Drive from Melbourne Avenue to Federation Mall
- Walpole Crescent from Queen Victoria Terrace to King George Terrace
- Parkes Place West and Parkes Place East from King George Terrace to King Edward Terrace
- Queen Victoria Terrace from Langton Crescent to Kings Avenue
- King Edward Terrace from Langton Crescent and Kings Avenue
Road closures from 4am until 9.45am on Sunday include:
- Bowen Place from King Edward Terrace to Bowen Drive
- Bowen Drive from Wentworth Avenue to Bowen Place
- Wentworth Avenue from Telopea Park East to Bowen Drive
- New South Wales Crescent from Telopea Park East to Telopea Park West
- Telopea Park West from Manuka Circle to Wentworth Avenue
- Southbound Kings Avenue lanes from Parkes Way to Blackall Street
From 4am until 11am on Sunday, these roads will be closed:
- Westbound Morshead Drive lanes from Russell Drive to Kings Avenue
- Westbound Parkes Way lanes from Kings Avenue to the Glenloch interchange
The following road closures will be in place from 5am on Sunday:
- Two northbound lanes on Commonwealth Avenue from Flynn Place to Parkes Way will reopen at 11am
- Lady Denman Drive from Cotter Road to Parkes Way. Reopens 12pm
- One eastbound lane on Cotter Road from Lady Denman Drive to Dudley Street. Reopens 12.30pm
- Dudley Street from Novar Street to Cotter Road. Reopens 12.30pm.
- Westbound lanes on Kintore Crescent from Novar Street to Denman Street. Reopens 12.45pm
- Westbound lanes on Denman Street from Kintore Crescent to Maxwell Street. Reopens 12.45pm
- Northbound lanes of Maxwell Street from Denman Street to Banks Street. Reopens 12.45pm
- Northbound of Banks Street from Maxwell Street to Weston Park Road. Reopens 12.45pm
- Weston Park Road to Banks Street. Reopens 1pm
- Eastbound lane of Brown Street from Banks Street to Alexandrina Drive. Reopens 1.30pm
- Alexandrina Drive from Brown Street to Flynn Drive. Reopens 1.30pm
- Flynn Place from Flynn Drive to Commonwealth Avenue. Reopens 2pm
- King Edward Terrace from Langton Crescent to Parkes Place East. Reopens 2pm
- Parkes Place East from King Edward Terrace to King George Terrace. Reopens 2pm
